Photochromic lenses are self-tinting. That means they automatically adapt to the light. When it gets brighter, they get darker. When it gets darker, they get lighter. You don't have to do a thing.
How does it work?
The lenses contain tiny molecules that react to UV light. As soon as the sun hits them, the molecules change shape and tint the lens. As soon as the UV light is gone (shade, clouds, forest), they fold back and the lens turns clear again.
